These darlings were for our lovely friend, Marisa Wu, the candy maker extraordinaire and brains behind Salty Road. She’s managed to get the attention of New York Magazine, Serious Eats, The Brooklyn Paper and now the Cooking Channel’s show “Unique Sweets”. We hope your shoot went well, Marisa!
The dahlias came from River Gardens flower stand at the Union Square market, where Luke (River Gardens) and I talked flowers and weather. He was anxious to head back upstate to start up his wood stove before the Nor’easter snow storm. Jackie and I wished we had one of those when the temperatures dipped this weekend. Because of the weather, the end of the bulb planting was delayed, but we’ll be tackling that by this weeks end. -xo
